STOCKHOLM, Feb. 26(Greenpost)–Stockholm International Peace and Research Institute has celebrated its 50th anniversary on Monday with the presence of the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, the Speaker of the Parliament Urban Ahlin, Foreign Minister Margot Wallström, the highest level of attention in Sweden.  Green Post’s reporter Xuefei Chen Axelsson has more.

我很荣幸能够请国王陛下上台讲话。Let me invite his majesty!

国王卡尔十六世古斯塔夫高度赞扬SIPRI在过去五十年中取得的成就。The King praised SIPRI for its research in nuclear weapons.

Urban Ahlin, Speaker of Parliament spoke at SIPRI’s 50th anniversary celebration.  SIPRI was established by the Swedish Parliament in 1966. 瑞典议会议长阿林说，虽然斯德哥尔摩国际和平研究所是由议会建立的，但它保持研究独立。而这种独立客观的研究成果才能不会遭到任何质疑。他赞扬SIPRI是同行中的佼佼者。

瑞典外交大臣马约特.瓦尔斯特罗姆说，想要和平，必须要为战争做好准备，她的意思是必须投资于研究，了解世界的军事情况。

Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström said she believed in that saying if you want peace, be prepared for war. We must invest in research.

SIPRI主任史密斯说，人们应该停下来，想一想，或许战争就可以避免。因此，他们把今年定为“反思年”。

SIPRI director Dan Smith said people should stop and think, maybe the war won’t happen if people did so. So SIPRI labelled 2016 as a year of reflection.
