”It’s well-known that Guangdong’s economy is export-oriented
and thus suffered a lot from the financial crisis rampant in
the US and European countries. Thus, we put up forward the goal
of industrial transformation and having more famous brands from
China. We need to introduce more advanced and high level talented
people with their own patents or brands, ”Zheng said.
He said that to attract more scientists to come to
Guangdong, the province invited scientific delegations or teams
from abroad to visit Guangdong every year.
Zou Haitao, director of Science and Technology Department
of Guangdong Provincial Government said that Guangdong has
allocated 10 to 100 million yuan or 1.4 to 14 million US dollars
special work grants to world’s advanced innovative scientific
research team who are willing to work in Guangdong.
The leading scientist can get not only five million yuan
or 630 thousand US dollars special work grant, but also a housing
subsidy of one million yuan after tax.
Accordingly, the regional and municipal governments also
allocate generous grants for the scientists and offer help to their
family and children.
Since 2010, Guangdong province has allocated 1.7 billion yuan
or over 200 million US dollars for 57 innovative research teams
and 49 leading scientists including four Nobel Laureates.
This year the application time is from May 31 to July 15 via
